I had an idea a few weeks back about what we can do when we meet people on the road who we’d like to keep in touch with. I can’t wait to meet other travelers and hopefully be able to keep up with their travels, too! If I feel like that, then they may feel the same way. So, I created a little leave behind card. It’s the same size as a business card, but with less information.
What do you guys think? I’ve only printed a handful because I need some feedback. Let’s take a vote:
Maybe with the cards, you can put your picture on it, make it more memorable so when people pull it out, they see your smiling faces 🙂
Great idea! Now I just need to find a fun photo of Corey & I! 🙂
I love the idea. We did the same thing although I have to admit that often I was too shy to give them out – that’s my introversion though – people to whom we gave them to thought they were neat and a nice way to stay in touch.
I think, though, they should be ‘funner’ than what you have up there. I agree with Laura…maybe a picture?
We have our shy moments as well! I haven’t always been shy, but I think moving up here & only having a few friends has turned me into a bit of a hermit. But, we’re going to try to be better for the trip! Thanks for the “fun” tip. . . I’m gonna get to work on something snazzier! 🙂
When my family was on the slow boat on the Mekong to Luang Prahbang, Lao, I recognized a couple that I felt I had found from Gillian’s blog. Turns out it was ForksandJets. They had the loveliest little simple card and I thought it was an excellent idea and I wished I had done the same. I actually have it in my hand right now, I saved it. I can scan it and send it to you if like to see it?
Oh yeah, I’ve read some of their stuff!
If you don’t mind I would love to see what their card looked like. . . thanks!!!
Can you email it to wallagrams365@hotmail.com?
We used vistaprint to make some cards that we gave to people we met. A lot of travellers swear by moo cards. We definitely made too many though!
I did look at moo, but they’re pretty expensive. Overnight Prints & Vistaprint are probably more in our price range. How many cards did you guys get?
we used vistaprint for sara’s baby shower invites and were very happy with the outcome, they looked great at were a good price, too.
We used vista for our “save the date” magnets & were very happy with the way the turned out & the quick turn around. I do like the doublesided photocards from Overnight prints though. . . they look really nice. We still have a while to decide, but at least we have plenty of options! 🙂
